This children's book was completed last spring and then Limelight Theatre asked me to write a play, which had a soldout performance. NOW, other playhouses at schools for the deaf are interested in putting on this play. Charleston, South Carolina invited me to their book fair where I signed books at the Mt. Pleasant Barnes and Nobles. We raised money for the SC School for the Deaf and Blind and Nobles and more schools are beginning to show an interest.

Please consider buying this book on Amazon.… Continue

I see from my previous reply to you that I omitted to tell you where I live.

I live in Scottsdale, Arizona, whose state motto has just been changed to "Thank God For Mississippi". My home is about a five minute walk from Old Town Scottsdale, where the bars and barflies (like me) hang out.

Now tell me, and forgive my ignorance, but what is FWA and LIWG? Feisty Women's Associaction? Ladies in White Gowns?

For more info about me and my wife Vannessa (the Amazon Queen), check out my website at www.johnpilgrimbooks.com

Sorry for the delay in replying, Mary Jane. My main source of income from writing is from magazine articles, although my non-fiction book How to Win a Gunfight has gained some excellent reviews, and it's selling pretty well.

As to my ventures into fiction, I like the action/adventure shoot 'em up/beat 'em up and love 'em up genre. My first novel Snides was written after much thought into what I was looking for in a simple, non-challenging, fun novel.

So, with that in mind, I developed the characters of John Pilgrim, and British ex-SAS trooper, who now runs a store selling military collectibles in London's Soho, where strip joints stand next door to four-star restaurants. For the female lead, and Pilgrim's partner, I made Sally Brandon an American journalist. However, she's not just arm candy for the hero; she's smarter than Pilgrim, sexy as hell, and in addition to all that, she loves to shoot her .45 Colt Commander!

A sequel, Pilgrim's Banner, will be published later this year, which will be followed by another book in the Pilgrim saga next year.

Hey MJ...Wow...I graduated in 1969 so that is probabley a bit ahead of your time. I was in the Billy Joel era, in fact I played with him and against him in what they called Battle of the Bands back then. The teacher that comes to mind back then is Mr Jawarski (don't know if thats spelled write) and I believe he became the principle later on. I lived on 6th street which was right accross the street from the high school. Yes, I was a hood who later turned hippie. :)

Hi Mary Jane. Thanks for stopping by my page. Somehow I had missed your messages there earlier (and one from Johnell, too).

I've responded there. Welcome!

Hi Mary Jane,

I currently live in Queens, NY. I grew up in Poughkeepsie, then spent 6 years in Richmond, VA before coming back to NY to go to college in the city. Been in Queens since 01.

When I'm writing fiction, my genre is young adult based Science-Fiction. Any other time, I'm writing for a pop culture web site called 411Mania.com. I have two columns there - "Scene Anatomy 101" and "The UBS Evening Movie News" - that are posted every Wednesday and Thursday. Feel free to check them out...

Hey Mary Jane...Yeah Grand Haven is on beachside. I'm over the bridge in the P section. Wow, small world. I've been in Palm Coast about 20 years now. I'm also from Long Island, I grew up in Hicksville and moved out to Shirley after I got married.
I'm an old rock & roll garage band musician, but was always partial to the blues. My weakness was always lyrics so I joined this site to learn. I've written lots of songs but I was never satisfied with my lyrics. Well...welcome to the writters box.
