I am sick of American royalty (celebrities) as well as British Royalty. I don't get it. I don't care. I don't give a rat's a$$ what these people are doing or how many children they are buying. Elected king of America? LOL... Wouldn't we all love to…

Hi, Mary, I have flashes of memories from when I was under 1 year old. My first memories began when I was 3 years old. As a psychology student, I have learned that most people have early childhood amnesia. It is normal. The brain is developing at t…

Here I am being a downer. I don't miss childhood at all. I relish being an adult. It has been the best time of my life thus far. I am now a mother and watching my little girl grow up has been amazing. I grew up in an urban area. Although we did walk…

Looking for Me

I started writing when I was eleven years old. It became an outlet for the anquish I was going through.

I just rediscovered my passion for writing a few years ago. I have been trying to piece together the story of my life. I am making it fiction based to shield the other people who don't want their ugly secrets revealed.

Aside from that. I have a million stories running through my head. I would like to learn more about style. I hear Hemmingway didn't over think these things and I need to just start writing. LOL

The Broken Child

This one I wrote a little later in life. I don't write much poetry anymore but sometimes I like to dabble. I know my subjects is a little grim but you write about what you know. This one is dedicated to my parents.

The Broken Child

There was a child who was born.
The child was born to children.
The child who was born to children was born to broken children.
The broken children didn't know how to teach the child the joys of life.
The broken children played bad games with the child.
The broken c… Continue

The Unshed Tear

This is a poem I wrote for a 9th grade assignment. It was one of my favorites and I have never forgotten it.

The Unshed Tear
Hiding quietly in the shadow of fear,
a blessed face with a streaming tear.
Unshed tears of pains and screams,
a parent's nurturing would be better it seems.

As the child is found in a wounded state,
the battle begins between love and hate.
What comes from child abuse?
The loss of love,
the gain of fear,
which leads to the unshed tear.

Love your homepage; very bright and not too pink. Dr. Seuss fan too. Still have my kids books; they are 22 & 26. And yes; I do read them from time to time. One fish, two fish...

Hi Kathie! I just saw your comment on the discussion about textspeak and just had to say...I LOVE Dr. Seuss. I always have, but I gained a true love for his stories when I was a teenager. I injured my back and was bedridden for a week. My little brother was 8 years old at the time, and Dr. Seuss was his favorite author. So he spent several hours a day sitting next to me reading. I had A Wocket in My Pocket and Dr. Seuss's ABC's memorized by the end of that week. I've since lost my brother, and so these simple but wonderful stories remain deep in my soul.

I have the same problem I have a story I want to write but all my ideas are all jumbled up. I was offered the same suggestion just start writing and let the words fall where they may, then edit later
