You know what...nevermind; it ain't worth the waste of words. I seriously am laughing because it makes sense to a degree, but what about the idiot male sperm donors? No testing for them?! LOL Tony Walker said:Jon said that he didn't need the govern…

Geez!...I've surely missed a lot here in 'the box' lately. Everyone has valid points here. Hell...why don't y'all just make up the new "Cabinet"!!! And...to 'Blinddog' on your four points below, "hell yes!" I say. Maybe I have an attitude today too;…

How did you hear about us? Please be specific.
After being inspired by Richard Paul Evans' story "The Christmas Box", I began a Web-search for an actual item called a "writer's box", which somehow led me here! While I did find a beautiful antique writer's box there, I will not be buying it right now. I think I may ask my Dad to make one for me and it will be even more special. He recently celebrated his 80th birthday and for many years, as a self-taught master craftsman, has not only restored antiques but also crafted many beautiful antique reproductions. While I regret not writing those journals over the years that I often contemplated, lately I have been jotting down notes & thoughts. Sometimes maybe it is best to leave those memories and ideas in our heads for awhile (trusting we don't forget them as we remember them). And, after having said all of that, a writer's box would certainly be the perfect place to hold such special thoughts--whether for myself, family & friends to read at a later date, or maybe even my very own book someday. I think it was author Richard Paul Evans who said 'if you must write but one book in your lifetime...let it be your autobiography.' For me, I've been thinking along the lines of using real-life inspiration for a piece of Fiction (the general reader wouldn't know what was true and what wasn't), and will be exciting to create such a piece. So, although I ended up here quite accidentally, I do believe things happen for a reason.

Finding my Muse...

[This was my reply to an original Blog post created on 12.15.2008 by Mary Deal entitled, “Frustration”. She posed the original question, “How do you handle frustration if and when your Muse takes a nap?”]

(Reply by Gena A. Etheridge-Seltzer on December 17, 2008):

"Hi Mary! Hope all is well your way. I hadn't dropped by in a few days, but will check back w/you again soon.

Q: How do you handle frustration if and when your Muse takes a nap?
Mary: regarding this writer's buzz-word "MUSE"?...being… Continue

"Whisker Wisdom's Daily Nips" (by Ceasar the Cat):

The inherent wisdom of a cat, as well as their nature, is not only intriguing but has remained a mystery in itself for centuries. Early Wednesday afternoon on 12.10.08, I had an idea surface--that while it might make for a cute poem someday--perhaps would make for some cool blog… Continue

Hi Gena, we could be related, my mother was an Etheridge and my great, great aunt Patsy Miller was married Jocob M. Seltzer who's daughter became tha Famous "Maggie" of Maggie Valley, N.C. Dad said as a kid in the Smoky Mountains they enjoyed hearing her talk in Dutch. She told them how bad it was crossing the Atlantic Ocean in a sailing boat. My latest book won an award at the annual N. C. Society of Historians at Hickory in 2008. Send me a mailing address and I'll send you a complimentary copy of "The Curse Of Satan's Collar." keep writing, John W.Miller

Hi Gena, sorry for the late response to your birthday wishes. Thank you very much! I am finally learning though that as you get older they just aren't the same... I sure do miss the pizza parties and sleep overs. Anyhow, hope you are doing well.

Gena:

Thanks so much for being my friend here at The Writer's Box.

And I love your music.

Isn't the internet great?

Below is some info about my novel, The House.

I'd love for you to join others in reading it through weekly posts and to hear your comments.

Take care and have a great day.

Also I love that there's a group for Characterization.
That's my specialization in teaching writing--and obviously so being that I'm a psychotherapist.

It's great to be here.
Blessings.

GEEEEEENa..............!
How are you sweetie! I finished my book a few weeks back but have been so very busy. I just celebrated my Birthday on the 9th and it was great. I actually got a call from the director/producer and Happy B-day was sang to me personally as well as other Happy B-day wishes! Can you believe it? I felt it was such an honor. I will post my new release along with an Excerpt in a second. I hadn't because I've been so busy and now I'm about to start my next novel. (crazy right...?) lol Gena I thank you for all of your support and will look forward to meeting you one day.

So what's going on...? Is everything alright.... I kinda felt something in the message you sent and wanted to check in and make sure my gurl is ok...? (smile) I know things can be tough sometimes but know they will definitely get better. Continue to be prayerful, hold your head up and never stop believing! No matter how hard things may seem.

Big hugs to you my friend and you drop me a line anytime, I'm always here. I will be sure and try to check my e-mails and touch base as soon as I can.

Talk soon and always be in touch!

It makes me very proud to know that my work is inspiring and touches lives such as yours. Yes, we do go through things, but you know what, through trials and tribulations come many many lessons-wisdom. You know how people say, for every bad thing that happens there's something good that comes out of it. I really don't look at it as a bad thing, but a challenge to test our know in the Divine Spirit (as you said yourself). Most times, within those challenges are the abundances we have been waiting to gain. This is why I find it very important to keep a positive attitude no matter what! Keep watching for more of my work and new books to come, in addition to the already published Truth Disguised.

May this message find you in great spirits. We are ONE!
