I read mostly romantic fiction but I also enjoy horror and adventure. I've written some poetry and short stories only for leisure but most of them I never kept.

I am a full-time student of psychology. Reading fiction has been one of my favorite pastimes throughout my life, so I started writing my nonsense at an early age. I always wrote for my own pleasure, so with time, I lost most of what I wrote when very young. Most people just keep their ideas to themselves and then forget them as the changing times bring new and different ideas to replace the old ones; a few of us try to save our old ideas forever and even miss the lost ones. I have three short stories half-way done and one almost done, the one I'm planning to finish soon. At least for now, I want to continue with my education and I'm not sure I will ever publish my work. I would like to have at least one good novel in my name, but in any case at least I would be able to say I wrote what I felt at my time of inspiration. I've always noticed that many published writers had always liked to place a label on the word as if depicting some originality to it, an exclusive group of sort that echoes great when pronounced amongst their circle of friends, as if to offer a vehicle of respect and admiration to others: "painter", "sculptor", "musician", "master", "writer", or just plain "artist". The problem I see here is the one of self idolization where the characters in question yearn to place themselves to a higher standard or degree than the one others are willing to concede them.
I don't like the idea of calling an unpublished writer a writer just like I dislike the idea of calling an 'engineer' who might presently be working as a waiter, an engineer- or vice versa; we are what we presently are. However, I think there is a need in most of us to convey our ideas, experiences and fantasies to others if we could. The only limitations consist in technical skills or willpower.

I've written notes while hearing what very wise people told of their own experiences in tribes so remote and inhospitable that the normal access familiar to us is impossible; people who can't read or write, don't know what education means or even know what our priorities are in our "advanced" society. Some talk in their own dialects and need a translator for us to understand; yet they have a profound knowledge of life skills and the spirit of humanity. My opinion? - I do believe every single human is a writer in essence; we all acquire enough experience both external and internal to create a book; the sad part is some of us can't.

What I don't plan to accomplish with my writing is a difference in the world; I do however plan to make a small impact with my actions. For what I've seen of today's world, those who have the power to make changes are not interested in the written word unless it benefits them and those who are interested in it don't have the power to change anything around them.

A Pledge At Oak Street

I wrote most of the story on a flight over the Pacific 2 weeks ago. I didn't have any purpose or ending, so I let it develop by itself as it went. Would love criticism from writers here; there's a lot of editing to do at least on the wording of sentences.

If some wonders about the length, I had made Dana aware of it- sorry.

Fred and Carl had known each other since childhood, both handsome and athletic, Susan walked in between them; a red haired girl with some freckles in her face, long… Continue

On Digital Media

One widely discussed topic is the way in which countless blogs and social network sites flooding cyberspace are drowning the seriousness and reliability of true journalism. Millions of members and subscribers to these unreliable sources are accepting the views they provide as fact; they have become pick-or-discard sources according to reader's perspectives. This sounds great for, not only readers can choose their pick but they can also participate on the discussions; anyone can be a provider of… Continue

Fairness and Insanity

Again the question of fairness, a very old topic indeed, have found its way into our lives more than usual as it is the case every time we come face to face with a major development supposedly altering the expected monotony of our lives one way or the other. Together with this question we hear the blabber of some who obviously can't even interpret the meaning of what they read themselves for lack of necessary instruction or mental capacity, trying to serve as an authority to give us advice on su… Continue

UNDEAD

Lay I far and awake
In quiet rage
Perfumed sheets remind
Like breath, of lies.
Between cries of obsession,
A distant wave
Carry with fury a heart
Immersed in spikes.

Why keep the present chains
Of demons past
After a heart left and took
Causing no bleed,
All the feelings worthwhile
For life to last?
Should I feed the undead
To quench its need?

Regarding Orwell's nightmare

What's all this paranoia about a New World Order that seems to have been boiling for a long time but have spilled all over after our last presidential election? It seems that a cautious group in this country has been gathering ingredients through the years to make a soup of gigantic proportions that only they seem to comprehend for the simple reason that they have blended all the incompatible pieces into one pot.

This mixture is so diverse that encompass parts made of religion, politics, econom… Continue

I greatly apologize, Dovi. I have no real excuse other than NaNoWriMo, which I'm failing miserably at. I need to get my prioroites straight, i.e. your onlineness. I'll get back on my grind as soon as I get out of this emergency room. In fact, I should write about it.

I can understand and respect that, Dovi. Personally, I enjoyed my time on the Seat. I think people don't take mer serious enough to ask me anything contraversial. Even if they did I would just turn it into a joke.

Are you gonna step up to the Hot Seat? I think you should.
