I see the rain today, slow and sort of steady, really just a drizzle. It is so soaking the earth, the soil absorbing it greedily. I cannot hear the rain inside this house with the asphalt shingle roof, but here in my shed devoid of the main house by about 65 feet, the tin above me resonates with every droplet.

Talking to a Chicken

The afternoon sun glinted off the shiny axe head lifted high in the air, waiting the down stroke.

The worse piece of chicken to get to eat is the neck, just all skin and little bitty bones, but maybe easy to cut?
