My Goodfriend.

My good friend has been there from the start

We will never be apart

One by one my friends have gone

But my one true friend knows we belong

He is the first to see me when I awake

We will never make that break

Those that don’t under stand say I buy his love

But we are one, like and hand in a glove

he is my only true friend

all around have now gone

buy my only true friend knows my song

He is still there, through thick and thin

He has not put me like others in the bin

So until the day I… Continue

A trip too far.

Today as it was a day off from work I decided that I would visit the gradchildren eventhough they live some 64 miles away, normally this trip will take me about 90 mins.

Well I got up early to take my dog for his normal six mile walk down along the A12, I am hoping to loose my 'man boobs.'

As I started my drive of 90 minutes, I turn the radio on only to hear there was a fatal accident and so I made my contingency plan and put my satnav on religiously following the twists and turns of the count… Continue

Life mid forties nearly.

Star date 19.10.09.15.20.
Ok so I like startreck like things, does that make me a geek or just strange, it's not like I dress up in the costumes or anything, no not even at the weekend. Old joke I know but when you nearly get to your mid forties then they are the only ones you can remember, probably thats because I have told them so many times.
The wifes was 50 last month, does that mean I am old before my time, I could trade her in for a new model, but I don't know if I can be asked to train an… Continue

My Birthday 11th July Every year, so far!

Dark Thoughts

Woke up at 7am banging head, (not self inflected) sat up it still hurt, laid down, it hurt more, what to do.
Got up and took the dog for a long walk along a narrow busy road to the local park about a mile away, on the way to the park I saw this very large lorry thundering it's way towards us, I had a fleeting thought to walk out in font of it, but didn't, who would save my Jack Russell?
No thoughts of my children or the wife, dark thoughts entered until we reached the park, void o… Continue

My Old Flat.

This bench wasn't here

the grass needs cutting

I used to live there

sitting on the balcony

eating my breakfast

watching the world go by

I used to live there

I was single and free

I couldn't wait for my

kids to finish school

they visited me everyday

I used to live there

when I had hair.

Hi Barry, haha now casting is something I have no input on. In fact even I can't do a cameo role because I don't hold an Equity card. Damn, shame eh? Anyway, I believe the casting company is based in Los Angeles, so that's a bit far t go for an audition...lol

Have a great day my new friend.

My pic: I'm not fed up. That's just one of my normal thinking poses. I thank you for the concern, though.

Hi Barry,

I will always talk to my friends as I'm certainly not a pompous type of person, and yes, I do have input on the film. I'm credited as author, co-screenplay writer and consultant so I've done okay out of it.

You're so right about reading the books before seeing the films though. The director wants to create a faithful recreation of the book but there are obviously certain areas where they will take a bit of movie creative license with it.

The movie will be filmed on location over her in the UK so I'll get plenty of time to spend on set with the movie people which is really exciting.

Hope to hear more from you soon.

Best wishes

Brian

Hi Barry,

Thanks for the compliment on my work. I certainly do hope you get the chance to read some of my books one day. My personal recommendation would be for you to begin with 'A Study in Red' which won the Preditors & Editors Best Thriller Novel of 2008 award, and which is currently in production as a motion picture in Hollywood. The sequel to that one is 'Legacy of the Ripper' which was released in June of this year (also under contract to the Film company) and I'm currently working on the final part of my Ripper trilogy, entitled 'Requiem for the Ripper'. You can see all of my titles at my main website at www.freewebs.com/brianlp/

Both the ripper titles are of course available at Amazon.

I do hope you find something to enjoy there. Mythica Publishing will also be releasing my vampire thriller 'Kiss of Life' in a few weeks. I loved writing that one.

Will look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best wishes

Brian
