Stolen from me, unfaithful God
Took away my portion of clay
Planted at your heart’s place
How could I breathe without you?

Nothing could be harder in life
Living on shared air
Exchanges always seem disparate
Equivocation like a politician
I too pressed my claim

Life like a joint
Smoked together, addicted
Abduction happens
Signals I never received
Nor I trusted yours lips

Work

Today, I haven’t finished what was assigned
to me: the lab work. My mentor will ask, “Why
am I stuck? ” I have no answer, so scared I am; from
my soul. I am sure she will out rightly know
befitting and untrue reasons that so often
students make, if I can. She will dig out for sure
from my eyes- the truth and then from hairs-to-feet,
she will scan me for my falsehood and at any time
blurt out the word : Liar, which I am not.
