Hi everyone! Just found this whacky club on Writer's Box. I have participated in NanoWrimo for the last four years and completed it all four. This is my fifth, and I am about 15,005 words in so far. Good luck, everyone! :D

Yes! join in on the insanity! It's always good to have someone to go insane together with isn't it? I think I've always worked better with an extreme deadline anyway.

I think I'm done for the night at 5657.

Congratulations to everyone for successful word counts! May great words come to you in your sleep.

Check it out: 3600 words and counting. All fuzzy here. About the only thing I started with was the basic theme, some nebulous in my head ideas for archetypes and the idea for the first chapter. I'm deep into chapter two now.

That's probably the best way to do it...anybody here writing from a Connecticut region?

Good stuff everyone. I haven't counted mine yet. I decided I'm only gonna count right before I go to bed.

Congratulations Steve! I just made my 1700 and am taking a break. I think I will write some more today as well because I'm sure something will make me get behind this week.

It went surprisingly easy. I thought it would take me a whole lot longer than 2 hours. Of course I have writing background info for almost 2 years now so it's like it's already taking place in my head anyway. Well, some of it is. I'm sure it will become more difficult when I get to those hazy places.

Here's to more words! May they be meaningful at least to our selves!

Day 1, 2400 words so far! Fun. I need to build up a buffer against possible shortfalls during the work week. Looking for 5000 words today. Wish me luck.

I just discovered the potential benefit of the "buddies" on nanowrimo. Your buddies can see how many words you've written and vice-versa. It seems it might be a good way to keep yourself motivated to see your friends getting somewhere. I haven't found a really good way to search for people on there though. You can find me by my user name, serendipityrose, if you want to be my "buddy". I will need all the motivation I can get!

Start writing Nov. 1 and end Nov. 30. 50,000 words, completed, though not edited, story. That's my understanding.

I really don't know if I will "win" (you win by accomplishing the above) but I'm going to give it one heck of a try. If nothing else maybe I'll learn some things.

I signed up on the forums on the nanowrimo website for a regional group. It actually goes from Panama City, FL to Pensacola, FL. Big spread. We have a few in Pensacola and we have scheduled a write-in. Apparently that means we find a place that we can use our computers and write and drink coffee and ask each other questions.
