Gearheads Forever!

This would be for those of us who for whatever reason run to the beat of different sound: open headers, squealing tires and burning rubber. yeah you know who you are. How about sharing some of those midnight treasures that you have stored.

Well fate has has struck again. A couple of years ago it was my daughter who wrecked her brand new Cobalt........This morning my oldest son wrecked his! Tried to avoid another accident in the road, hit some ice and ended up playing rodeo with his car and the retaining wall.

Went over to Jerry’s last night to help lend a hand.
Jerry needed to get his 1967 Lincoln outta the barn last night; he has someone coming over to have a look at it with the possibility of purchasing it from Jerry. We had to move Joe’s nova which really did NOT want to run, then we needed to move the Camaro and an old MG before we could get to the Lincoln. I guess that I’d never been up close to a 67 Lincoln before; these things were huge! HUGE, I tell you; four doors and a convertible top no less! We did manage to get it moved down to the shop, but man o man what a handful_ ask Ricky.
The Nova still charms me, all snuggled down on its’ springs and full of rumbly camshaft and nasty mufflers. Such a beast! I sure hope that I can get the Camaro back on its feet this year. Would be nice.

In this day of the "anti gas guzzler" thinking; would it be just for a person to feel guilty for driving a "Muscle car"? In all honesty I have owned my fair share of what I would consider quick cars, but todays cars have the upper hand when it comes to performance AND gas mileage. But having said that I still pine for teh full song of a four barrel carb and headers. NOTHING says horsepower quite like a Big Block. So what do you say?

I've been around cars all of my life, and I have more than a couple stories to share, discussion to throw around too! So I was thinking that if I do, there has to be others who can share some as well. So let's hear em.

Yeah that IS me! And this is "Buford" (Big Ugly Ford). I bought Buford in 2003 with a mere 185K miles on the clock. Its now sitting right at about 222K; still starts runs and gets us around pretty well! I'd say that was a well spent $2000, wouldn't you?
